Sisterhood
The Sisterhood of Temple Ner Maarav is part of the international organization Women's League for Conservative Judaism and we participate in its branch meetings and Biennial Convention.
Our Sisterhood is dedicated to enriching the lives of Jewish women through learning and sharing.
We offer weekly M.I.D. classes with our rabbi and regular Sisterhood sponsored Shabbatot. In addition, we have a yearly “Paid Up Membership” Luncheon, as well as a Spring Luncheon for our mothers.
Our general meetings feature interesting lectures, movies, book reviews and game days.
We serve our Temple by preparing Oneg Shabbats, Kiddush and luncheons for Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. We provide flowers for the Bima on the High Holidays and help raise money for our Hebrew School during the Purim Carnival with a Bake Sale.
The Sisterhood helps raise money for our Temple by selling script and by having several Ways and Means projects throughout the year.
By raising money for the Torah Fund we subsidize students at the Theological Seminary in New York and the University of Judaism here in Los Angeles .
The Sisterhood of Temple Ner Maarav is eager to serve our members, our congregation and the needs of the Jewish community.
We welcome your membership, commitment and participation.
