HAZAK is the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism's Organization for Mature Jews ages 55 years and older. Temple Ner Maarav is indeed fortunate to offer such a program since many of our members fall into that age category. The goal of a HAZAK program is to provide stimulationg activites that supplement what the Synagogue offers to all it's congregants. Consequently, the activites consist of educational lectures which cover issues which are related to Judaism or may be of a more secular nature, including geopolitics, entertainment and daily living interests such as financial planning, public safety and health topics which are of special interest to members of HAZAK. We are planning on holding events on a monthly basis, hopefully on the last Sunday of each month, although we allow flexibility for events such as field trips which may be held on another day. The membership fee is $18.00/person for Temple members and $25/person for those not affiliated with Temple Ner Maarav. There may be a small additional charge if a brunch or lunch is offered as part of the event. We are in the process of establishing a calendar of events for the year and hope to have that information available as soon as possible. We're confident that HAZAK will be a truly rewarding experience.
